Signaling assays

Signaling assays

We propose a set of in vitro efficacy tests using cellular assays for signaling studies:

  • Flow cytometry analysis by Phospho Flow: Flow cytometric analysis of phosphorylated proteins using phospho-specific antibodies allows researchers to quickly and efficiently measure signaling cascades in individual cells. The traditional immunofluorescent cell surface staining and phospho flow cytometry protocols can also be combined.
  • Reporter gene assays: Using cells transfected with reporter genes, the cells can be activated when certain pathways are triggered and such events can then be measured by testing the reporter gene either by fluorescence or by enzymatic activity. These methods of substitution can be much more sensitive and fast than the detection of the primary gene response.
