Description

Sf9 Insect Cells

The Sf9 insect cell line is a clonal isolate derived from the parental Spodoptera frugiperda cell line IPLB-Sf-21-AE.  Sf9 cells are adapted for suspension culture in ESF 921 or ESF AF and are available as a frozen vial or suspension culture.  Sf9 cells are commonly used to produce recombinant baculoviral stocks and to produce recombinant proteins.

• Recombinant protein expression from a variety of expression platforms • Good growth in adherent or suspension culture • Small, regular size that generates even monolayers and plaques • Quality and performance testing

Sf21 Insect Cells

The Sf21 insect cell line (IPLB-Sf-21-AE) is derived from ovarian cells of Spodoptera frugiperda.  Sf21 cells are adapted for suspension culture in ESF 921 are available as a frozen vial or suspension culture.

Tni Insect Cells

The Tni insect cell line is derived from ovarian cells isolated from Trichoplusia ni.  Tni cells are adapted for suspension culture in ESF 921 or ESF AF and are available as a frozen vial or suspension culture.

• Recombinant protein expression from a variety of expression platforms • Can express 5-10x as much protein as Spodoptera cell lines • Good growth in adherent or suspension culture • Quality and performance testing

S2 Insect Cells

The S2 insect cell line is derived from a primary culture of late stage (20-24 hours old) Drosophila melanogaster embryos.  S2 cells are adapted for suspension culture in ESF 921 and are available as a frozen vial.
