Direct PCR and genotyping

Direct PCR and genotyping

We offer a range of kits containing the necessary reagents for DNA extraction and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) analysis.
Silica membrane column purification methods can be used to remove contaminants and inhibitors, but are expensive and may have low yield. Less expensive approaches such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and proteinase K (PK) can save time, but contamination can produce inconsistent results. This is why it is preferable to use a direct PCR kit which combines the low cost of conventional extraction methods with the performance of DNA polymerases optimized for amplification from unpurified extracts.

These kits are optimized for the following applications:
  • Genotyping of mice: Genetic identification of transgenic animals by PCR on DNA extracted from tail, ear, hair, blood ...
  • PCR carried out directly on samples without purification step and pretreatment: these kits contain a lysis buffer specific to the treated sample and a PCR mix containing an enzyme capable of amplifying a DNA sequence from a Unpurified extract. The samples that can be analyzed with these kits are: blood, animal tissue as well as plant tissue.
